Late Nights

I did the Late Night Block party with the Dallas Museum of Art, Crow Collection and The Nasher Sculpture Center. It was kinda of bitter sweet cause I was alone with no one to share it with and everyone else was a couple or a group of same sex. I still had an amazing time and can't wait for next month to go. I'm actually going to get there way earlier and enjoy as much of the events they have planned.

My first stop was at The Nasher and it pretty much had it's usual permanent collection but I like seeing the pieces I enjoyed the first time I went. They had Mama Mia playing in the garden and drinks and the cafe open. I got there laround 9.45 and didn't have much time to enjoy a movie or really get into the work of arts. Only had 2 hrs to see the other museums. James Turell's The Tending is Something to see at night. But I definitely want to see it when the sun goes down it has to be a spectacular sight.

The second stop was the Crow Collection of Asian Art. They are exhibiting an amazing Japanese American pop artist Roger Shimomura. They also had a bamboo flutist there as well. I was overwhelmed with so emotion while the flutist was playing looking at his works of expression on how it is to be a Japanese American and the adversities that he went through. Sometimes it was intimate some bold some with laughter. The time that I had and the movement of the crowd I hope it is still on show when I go back next month.

The final stop of the night was at the Dallas Museum of Art. The where showing off several artist in the Private Universe exhibition both media and paintings. The contemporary was really great to see. And since the DMA is very big museum it was great wondering in the permanent collection. Until I noticed where are the dj's there's suppose to dj's and then finally I came across DJ Wild in the Streets. Awesome collection of music. And then like all good things it had to come to an end and I really just wish I could bask in the art all night long some more.
