Day 5
Photograph Eve Arnold
On the set of The Misfits with Marylin Monroe,Nevada 1960. Eve and Marylin met when Marylin was newly discovered. They bonded and Marylin would do many photographs for Eve over the course of 10 years. Her collection of Marylin have sometimes overshadowed her other work immensely. And despite enormous amount of pressure to reveal unseen images of her there were pictures Eve promised she would never show and never did. Eve captures her famous luminous beauty, but also her fragility.

28 Days of Eve
I've come across Eve Arnold about a year ago when her book Eve Arnold's People was on the library shelf begging for me to pick up.What a delight to my eyes. The only known female photographers I knew about and interested in was Diane Arbus and Carrie Mae Weems. Arbus living up to the T the tortured artist it's refreshing knowing about Eve. To revive my old blog as a tribute I'm giving you 28 days of Eve Arnold with images from her book Eve Arnold's People.

The way that she's captures people inspires me to become the photographer I know I was meant to be.
